Dharma Productions a big banner changed tracks when they announced a movie titled "Dostana". Dostana is undoubtedly based on homosexuality, gays etc. The trailers looked very funny and hilarious. Who can afford to miss a movie produced by Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar and starring John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol and Priyanka Chopra.
Well, does the movie lives up to it's hype?
For me, Dostana was a movie I wished was never made. The acting was good and the actors were frequently funny. But the movie was not simply working for me. It looked as if Taran has just extended the scene of Kal Ho Naa Ho (SRK-Saif-Kanta)....
The plot goes like this..... Two bachelors (Abhishek & John) want to rent a house. But the land lady tells them that she will only give her house on rent to a female only because of Priyanka Chopra and then Abhi and John start acting as gays to get the house...
The story takes a turn on the entry of Bobby. Abhi and John both fall in love with Priyanka and Priyanka falls in love with Bobby and vice-versa.
Taran has done a good job as a debutant director but the movie was not as good as former Dharma's movies are..
On whole, Dostana is an average movie. If people want to laugh then they can buy tickets for Dostana without any hesitance. But no-one can expect any material from Dostana.
